KILFLYNN COMMUNITY WALKWAY

Members of Kilflynn Running Group are embarking on a mammoth “Everesting” challenge to help raise funds to assist in the development of a purpose built Community walkway which will be located at Crotta O’ Neills GAA grounds at Dromakee Kilflynn. This amazing amenity, complete with lighting, is planned to be open to all the community day or night once completed in September.
This can only be achieved with your help and support so let’s all work together as only our community can to bring about a facility which will benefit the health and well being of everybody for years to come.  More details to follow through Facebook, Instagram & Twitter over the coming weeks. If you would like to make a donation, please donate via the GoFundMe. Gofundme.com/f/kilflynn-community-walkway

Extract from Bishop Ray’s Message

As Congregations return to Church this week, please return slowly and be understanding.
A warm welcome to all who join us for Holy Mass this first week and weekend with congregations returned. The delight of so many shows an appreciation that it is as vital to nourish the spirit and the soul, as well as the body.  We do not face the world on our own, God is with us.
There is upset and disappointment that large churches are restricted to a congregation of 50 people. The hope is that before the end of the month this will change to 100, where social distancing can be maintained.

Return To Public Mass:  To facilitate parishioners who wish to attend Mass, a reservation system will be in place for all masses in the parish.  Please contact the Parish Office (066 4018996 at these times) to indicate the mass you would wish to attend.

Monday 6.30 p.m. – 8.00 p.m.
Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 9.30 a.m. – 1.30 p.m.

This system will be in place for all Masses in the Parish.

For those who will attend Mass, please note the following:

  • The dispensation from attending Vigil and Sunday morning Mass remains in place until further notice.
  • Parishioners attending Mass are advised to wear a face covering in the Church. (Please note that face coverings are not suitable for children under the age of 13 and that not everyone will feel comfortable wearing a face covering).
  • Use sanitiser provided when entering and exiting the church.
  • Ushers in the Church will show you to a seat.
  • Parishioners should sit or stand (no kneeling) and touch as few surfaces as possible.
  • Holy Communion will be given by Eucharistic Minister/Priest who will be wearing a face covering.
  • Ushers will also monitor and control the exiting of people after Mass. Please observe social distancing in the church yard.
  • Toilets will remain closed.
  • At weekend Masses the passing of baskets is not recommended so our collection will now be inside the door of the Churches.

A word of Thanks: To all parishioners, who have given weekly envelopes for the time when the churches were closed.  Parish income figures for the period, January to March, and April to June, will be given in the newsletter next weekend.  If you still have money for Trócaire, try to give it without delay.  Thanks, too, for Spring and Easter contributions to Priest Income.
