WILD FLOWER WALK
A walk towards Tobar Flainn Holy Well, Kilflynn looking at all the different wild flowers that grow along the hedgerows. The walk will commence from Kilflynn village on Sunday 15th August at 3. 00p.m and will be led by Medical Herbalist, Christine Best MNIMH, who will talk about the uses and characteristics of the plants. The walk is suitable for all ages. Children must be accompanied and dogs must be kept on a lead. Social distancing will be practiced along with other Covid related guidelines
CROTTA GAA LOTTO RESULTS
Due to current Covid-19 guidelines, The Crotta sports field, Dromakee, Kilflynn was the venue for the Crotta hurling club weekly lotto draw on Tuesday 10th August. The Four numbers drawn out of the drum by the independent observer: Graham Harris, Clounsillagh, Lixnaw were 2,4, 12 and 26.
There was no winner of the 4,700 Jackpot. Congratulations to the following who won €35 in the lucky dip draw:

ALL IRELAND INTERMEDIATE CAMOGIE GAME 3
Massive congrats and well done to Ian Brick and all the Kerry girls for proving how driven they are as hard work and the ability to park last week’s loss to Derry saw them beat Laois 2-11 to 0-5 in Durrow on Saturday 7thAugust. They now qualify for the All-Ireland Intermediate Camogie Championship quarterfinals along with Derry who hammered Tipperary today. Superb all-round team display.
The Crotta players on the Kerry team were Aoife Behan (Midfield) 0-01 and Jackie Horgan (full forward) (1-03) and Amy O’Sullivan (Corner forward).

As before, people can come to Mass on a weekday rather than a Sunday. Some of the oldest among us may return to Mass because they are now fully vaccinated. Funerals remain private family events and the maximum number that may attend a funeral is 50 people, regardless of the size of the church. Numbers attending with immediate family members only, but not more than ten. . In Abbeydorney the number is 100 made up ‘2 pods of 50’ while Kilflynn can accommodate up to 70. Face coverings/face masks must be worn. Social distancing guidelines must be adhered to.
MINOR CAMOGIE
The Kerry minor squad went down to Roscommon on Sunday 8th August on a 2-16 to 1-3 score line – hard luck girls but well played and a home game next Sunday to look forward to against Meath in the sportsfield, Dromakee, Kilflynn at 2.00p.m. We wish the Kerry players and their mentors, especially the Crotta Girls Amy O’Sullivan (Captain) and Rosin Quinn.

Crotta Senior hurlers opened their Garvey’s Supervalu Senior Hurling County Championship campaign with a 25-point win over a gallant Dr. Crokes side on Friday evening 6th August in atrocious wintry conditions at Austin Stack Park, with a spread of 12 different scorers.
