KILFLYNN CITY RUNNING GROUP

Couch to 5K  is back!!!!
So if you are seeking to get out and about, meet new friends and gain a healthier body and mind in the process why not get involved.
This really is a relaxed and fun environment. Each person’s targets and goals are their own. Encouragement and companionship are what the group provides.
All abilities and ages are welcome so why not come along to the  Kilflynn community walkway at Crotta Gaa, Dromakee, Kilflynn,  on Sundays 10am – 11am and Wednesdays 7- 8pm. All we ask is a voluntary €2 contribution for each session with all funds raised being used for Crotta Field Development which provides playing facilities for all GAA teams from U5’s – Senior players within our fantastic community.

ABBEYDORNEY/KILFLYNN ACTIVE RETIRED

Group are meeting Wednesday 19th October at 10 a.m. in Abbeydorney Parish Community Hall for tea and a snack. They are then going on a short mystery trip followed by lunch in Chirish Restaurant. The coach will leave the Community Centre at 10.45am sharp. Please contact 066 7135831 for further details. New members are most welcome.

In St.Columbas Centre, Kilflynn, every Monday night at 9.00 p.m. Plenty of fun and exercise guaranteed. All Welcome.

KILFLYNN TODDLER GROUP

The Kilflynn toddler group meets up every Thursday mornings in St. Columbus Centre, Kilflynn at 10.00-11.30 am. Please come yourself and bring some friends, plenty of toys, laughter, chats and finally that hot cuppa with some sweets.

CROTTA LOTTO RESULTS

The Crotta hurling club weekly lotto draw was held on Monday 10th October at Herbert’s Bar, Kilflynn.
The Four numbers drawn out of the drum by the independent observer: Sonny Egan, Garrynagore, Lixnaw were 13,18,21 and 31.
There was no winner of the 3,500 Jackpot.
Congratulations to the following who won €35 in the lucky dip draw:
Kathleen Weir, Killahan, Abbeydorney, Jessica Cronin, Hillview, Knocknacaska, Kilflynn and  Deborah Nammock, Ballyconnell Close, Kilflynn.
The next draw will take place in Parker’s Pub on Monday 17th October at 10.30p.m with a €3,600 Jackpot.

GARVEY’S COUNTY SFC QUARTER-FINAL

Congratulations and well done to the Feale Rangers Senior players and their management especially the Crotta players Cillian Trant (Midfield), Barry Mahony (Centre forward) 0-3 (0-1f), Rory Mahony 0-02 came on a sub (ht) and Seán Weir came on as a sub (55) who booked their place in the Garvey’s SuperValu County Senior Football Championship semi final spot  with a victory over reigning Kerry SFC champions Austin Stacks in Austin Stack Park on Saturday,8th October.
RTÉ are to broadcast the Garvey’s County Senior Football Championship semi-final between Feale Rangers and Mid Kerry next Saturday evening, October 15. The game has a throw-in time of 7.15pm in Austin Stack Park, Tralee. We wish the Feale Rangers players and their mentors all the best on Saturday night.

Kerry Junior Camogie Championship 2022.
Cillard 2-5 Causeway 1-4
Cillard are the 2022 Junior County Camogie Champions, after a narrow four-point win over Causeway in Austin Stack Park on Sunday evening. The weather certainly put a damper on proceedings on such a big occasion for the girls , but we were still treated to an entertaining contest. It completed a two in a row for Cillard but this year they have the added bonus of a game in Munster. Well done to the Cillard players and their mentors, especially the Crotta girls Sarah Gleeson, Roisin Quinn and Niamh Quinn

Once again, I issue a reminder to anybody wishing to submit any items of interest that you wish to highlight or advertise through these notes. These notes are for the benefit of everybody in Kilflynn and indeed neighbouring parishes but in particular it is to keep our vast amount of people in other parts of the world informed as to what is going on here at home.
