KERRY SENIOR HURLERS BOOK A PLACE IN THE JOE MCDONAGH CUP FINAL

Joe McDonagh Cup Group B Round 3
Meath 0-28 Kerry 1-21
It really came down to the wire, as Kerry booked a place in the Joe McDonagh Cup Final on Saturday 17th July 5.00p.m in Croke Park; despite a four-point loss to Meath at Páirc Tailteann on Saturday 10th July.
In the end a late-late Padraig Boyle pointed free, coupled with their strong goals tally throughout the competition; proved vital to secure a show-down with Westmeath at GAA Headquarters.
With the same number of league points (one win each) and the same scoring difference (+4); and even the same number of total scores (3-45 to 2-48); it came down to the number of goals scored to ensure Kerry and not Down advanced to the decider. The Crotta Club was represented by Tomas O’Connor (Corner back), Shane Nolan (Mid field) (0-02), Barry Mahony and Donal Hunt were also members of the Kerry panel.
We wish the players and their mentors all the best in the Joe McDonagh Cup Final.
