It was an extremely well-prepared ceremony. The children did themselves, their families and their school proud by the way they participated in the ceremony. The gratitude of all goes to their teacher Mrs Tina O’Connell and Fr. A special word of thanks to Fergus O’Sullivan, pianist, who accompanied Mrs. O Connell’s and the school choir. Their beautiful music and singing enriched the ceremony. CROTTA GAA

Michael Parker Snr.

Crotta GAA and the whole of the  Kilflynn community wish to express our heartfelt condolences to the Parker family on the sad passing of Michael Parker Snr on Saturday 10th May.
Mike was a passionate Kilflynn and Crotta GAA man. He was a keen businessman, and together with his wife, Kitty built up a wonderful family business, which is still one of the hubs of our community. He loved nothing more than hearing the stories and tales of daily life and often added his own humorous twist or one liner with wonderful comic timing.
Michael loved all sports, particularly GAA. His wonderful collection of club and county match programs would be the envy of the most staunch collectors. Throughout his 93 years, he has lived through much of Crotta GAA sporting history and was hugely proud of his grandson Gavin when he and his teammates lifted the Neilus Flynn in 2023.
A wonderful publican, he was always on hand to lend his support either through sponsorship or advice to all and every community event. These special attributes have been passed to his wonderful family members and grandchildren, all of whom embody Mike’s and Kitty’s warm, generous, and supportive nature’s.
Mike loved life, community, and sport, but his biggest passion was family, so to all Michael’s wonderful family, friends’ neighbours, and loved ones, we extend our most sincere condolences. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
