Crotta Senior Hurlers are Fexco Kerry Heroes of 2023 Awards winners, and received an award crafted by Louis Mulcahy Pottery Potadóireacht na Caolóige in Radio Kerry studios on Thursday 21st December. Paddy Weir (Crotta Hurling Club chairman) , Sean McGrath (Crotta Senior player) & Gavin Parker (Crotta Senior player) were interviewed live on Radio Kerry. Congratulations. Thanks to Kathleen Glavin, Ballyrehan, Lixnaw for the nomination, also to the other people who sent in nominations.

KILFLYNN CITY RUNNING GROUP JANUARY CHALLENGE

Walk or Run 5km-A-Day throughout the month of January. If you are unable to attend you can do some form of exercise every day in January and donate €1 per day. All proceeds will go to the palliative care unit in Tralee .
We will be based at Crotta Gaa Community Walkway, dromakee, Kilflynn  anytime between 7-9pm every evening in January. If you can’t make it, share your exercise with us and post your step count, cycle or yoga. Do something to get you moving every day in January. So shake off 2023 and start 2024 with a bang and help the palliative care unit in Tralee. This may be a stepping stone to a fitter and happier 2024 and who knows what it may lead to.

Crotta Hurling Club have agreed to extend the deadline for the €23,000 Giveaway draw until Sunday 17th March 2024. This decision has been taken as sales have unfortunately fell short of our expectations.
We hope to sell more tickets in the coming 2 months, so that we can continue to invest in the Club facilities. So for just €25 you can buy a ticket (or 5 tickets for €100) for their #CrottaChampo draw and be in with a chance of winning one of 10 cash prizes. Main cash prize is €10,000. Heartiest Congratulations to Vanessa Houlihan and Crotta Senior Hurler Shane Nolan, Domakee Kilflynn on the birth of their baby boy Leo at Kerry University Hospital on Wednesday 27th December, and a brother for Ava. Wishing them all the best with the new arrival.

The fourteenth edition of the Kilflynn Chronicle  is available to buy at the usual outlets in Kilflynn, Abbeydorney and Lixnaw, at Ardfert Printing, Woulfe’s Bookshop, Listowel, O’Mahony’s Bookshop, Tralee and Oaklands Daybreak, Oakpark Road, Kellys Six Crosses. Packed with history, sport, poetry and photographs, the magazine is the ideal Christmas present and is priced at €15.

The Crotta hurling club weekly lotto draw was held on Tuesday night 26th December, at Parker’s Pub, Kilflynn. The Four numbers drawn out of the drum by the independent observer: Graham Harris, Clounsillagh, Lixnaw were 2,4,18 and 22. There was no winner of the 7,300 Jackpot. Congratulations to the following who won €35 in the lucky dip draw: Tamara Goggin, Dromartin, Ballyduff,  Cathal McLaughlin, Cloughmills, Co. Antrim
and Katie Cahill, Kilshinane, Listowel
