ABBEYDORNEY/KILFLYNN COMMUNITY ALERT GROUP

The Abbeydorney Kilflynn Community Alert Group will hold a meeting in Shannow FRC, Abbeydorney on Tuesday 19th April at 7.30pm.  The aim of this meeting is to see is their interest within the community to join the group. At the moment there are only 4 existing members, some of which wish to step down. IF you would like to see the Community Alert continue in the area please come along!!

CUMANN NA MBUNSCOL FOOTBALL FINAL

We wish the best of luck to the St.Teresa’s National School, Kilflynn Football team and their management in Cumann na mBunscol Football Final against Kilmurry NS on Thursday 7th April at 5pm in Austin Stacks Park. The Kilflynn team had a 6-09 to 6-05 victory over a gallant Lispole side in the semi final at St Pats GAA Club pitch, Blennerville,  on Tuesday 5th April, distpite  trailing  by 11points at the half time whistle on a score line of 4-04 to 5points.

Crotta Senior hurlers had a 2-20 to 0-15 victory over Kilmoyley on Friday evening 1st April at Lerrig in round 4 of the County Senior league div 1.  Crotta are home to Ballyheigue on Friday evening 15th April at 6.30p.m in the next round of the County Senior league.

On behalf of the community, we offer our sincere sympathy to Peter Nammock, Fear an Flainn, Kilflynn, and to his Family on the death of his father Terry Nammock, New Marian Park, Tralee and formerly of Mitchel’s Road, Tralee, on Tuesday 8th March.
On behalf of the community, we also offer our sincere sympathies James O’Driscoll, and his family Aulane, Abbeydorney on death of his sister Kathleen O’Connor (nee O’Driscoll) of East Commons, Ardfert, and formerly Abbeydorney, and New Image Hair Salon, Milk Market Lane, Tralee, who died peacefully on 15th March.
The death took place of Edmond Hannon, the Waterfall, Kilflynn and Camberwell, London, who died peacefully on 13th March in the wonderful care of University Hospital Kerry. Predeceased by his loving wife Mary Ann, brothers John, Tom and Paddy and his sister Debbie.
On behalf of the community, we offer our sincere sympathies to his daughter Breda, sons Patrick and Michael, his sisters Ann, Kathleen, Teresa and Ellie, his adored grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Reposing at his residence on Tuesday, 15th March. His remains were removed from his residence on Wednesday, 16th March, to St. Mary’s Church, Kilflynn for 11.00 am Requiem Mass celebrated by Fr. Denis O’Mahoney. Burial afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Kilflynn. On behalf of the community, we also offer our sincere sympathies to the Relihan and McCarthy Families on the death of Alice Relihan (nee McCarthy) of Tullacremin, Abbeydorney, and formerly of Garrynagore, Lixnaw, peacefully at home, on 24th March
Reposing at the Chapel of St. Bernard’s Church, Abbeydorney on Friday 25th March, Funeral arrived to St. Bernard’s Church, Abbeydorney on Saturday at 10.30 a.m. for Requiem Mass at 11.00a.m celebrated by Fr. Denis O’Mahony and Deacon Francis White. Burial afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Kilflynn.
The death has occurred of Myles Cronin, Woodbridge, Suffolk and formerly of Kilflynn, on Thursday 24th March. Predeceased by his parents Tom and Bridie Cronin, Kilflynn.
On behalf of the community, we also offer our sincere sympathies to Ally, loyally by his side when he passed peacefully, cherished daughter Darcy, loving sisters; Helen, Margaret, Catherine, Bridget, Josephine, Moira; dearest Aunt Phil, Uncle Paddy; brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, mother-in-law; nieces, nephews, grandnieces/nephews, extended family and very dear friends.
There will be Mass for Myles at St Mary’s Church, Kilflynn on Friday, April 8th, at 10:00a.m and a Memorial Ceremony in Woodbridge at a later date. May They Rest in Peace

CROTTA ACADEMY

The Crotta Academy returned in beautiful sunshine on Sunday 27th March and will continue each Sunday throughout the Summer from 11am – 12pm. The Academy is for age groups U5’s – U9’s and will be held at our sport grounds Dromakee (V92 NW92). THE WEEKLY DART’S TOURNAMENT

There was no weekly Darts Double Tournament in Parker’s lounge bar, on Saturday night 2nd April due to the Sold-out Bernard Casey Comedy Show in Parker’s Pub.
The Next Darts tournament will take place on Saturday night 9th April in Parker’s at 9.30p.m. All names in for 9.15p.m Sharp. The winners of the weekly darts will receive a voucher each for Terry’s butcher shop, Tralee.

The Crotta hurling club weekly lotto draw was held on Monday 4th April at Parker’s Pub, Kilflynn.
The Four numbers drawn out of the drum by the independent observer: Graham Harris, Clounsillagh, Lixnaw were 2,12, 20 and 28.
